Invitation: Reception at the Moncton Gallery – High School Art Exhibit Mayor George LeBlanc cordially invites you to attend a reception hosted to celebrate the February exhibit of the Moncton Gallery, featuring artwork from students from Greater Moncton high schools. Thursday, February 11, 2010 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Moncton Gallery, Moncton City Hall (655 Main Street) High school art students will be present to talk to guests about their art. A few members of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening. The high school art exhibit will be on display at the Moncton Gallery from February 8 to March 4, 2010. Thank you to Sobeys and Coke for making this event possible. 2. Call to Artists: Moncton Summer Concerts 2010 The City of Moncton presents Moncton Summer Concerts every July and August, on the following three outdoor stages: the Moncton Market outdoor stage, Victoria Park amphitheatre and the new Centennial Park stage near the kids' play zone. These community concerts allow local artists of all levels to share their talent with fellow citizens, on stages in their own community. Local performing artists of all levels of talent are invited to submit their application to the Moncton Summer Concerts. All performing art forms will be considered, from music to dance, to theatre, to live visual arts performances, or a combination of these art forms – be creative! Moncton Gallery 2010 Schedule The Moncton Gallery is pleased to present a variety of art exhibits in 2010: · January 5 – February 4: Marc Little · February 8 – March 4: High School Seniors from Greater Moncton High Schools · March 8 – April 1: Raynald Basque · April 7 – May 6: Moncton Art Society · May 10 – June 3: Dominik Robichaud · June 7 – July 2: Mario Cyr · July 5 – September 1: Juried Exhibition · September 7 – 30: Roch Bourque · October 4 – November 4: FotoExpo · November 8 – December 2: Heasun Kim · December 6 – January 6, 2011: Maurice Cormier Continued next page About the Moncton Gallery: In addition to presenting the works a new artist every month, the Moncton Gallery hosts an annual art exhibit by Greater Moncton high school students every February, as well as a Juried Exhibit each July and August. A committee made up of professional artists of various backgrounds, and City of Moncton support staff, oversees the selection of artists and the general management of the Moncton Gallery. To submit an application: Artists interested in submitting their application for a solo exhibit or for the annual Juried Exhibit can find applications forms on the Gallery Moncton webpage.
